08.14.05 - wow...now it's really time for an update. well well well, where to begin? scott and matt are back in texas and we had our first practice yesterday. it's like they never left. we sound as claptastic as ever and we will be better than ever at our gobs of shows in the near future. our first show back is on august 23rd in san marcos; our first of 3 shows in 4 days. we have a ton of shows coming up, so check the shows page for more details.

also, as you all are aware of clap!clap!'s lovely rendition of kanye west's "the new workout plan," we have just made the song available to you. if you have not heard our "new workout plan," then check out the audio section and hear what you have been missing.

in addition, we have a new clothing sponsor, Carlisle Clothing. they make some very creative shirts, and we are happy to be on board their team. please check out their myspace and begin a long-lasting friendship, just as we have.

06.05.05 - about time for an update? probably so...well here we are one month older, one month wiser. we are complete with new bass player nick, who's doing incredible and who's bio is up for reading in the bio section. our keyboardist, scott ota is currently on leave in california for an internship, but we have a temporary keyboardist, ryan, to fill in live until matt, our drummer, leaves for june and we go on a short break until september when everyone is back. sad we know...we miss scott and will miss playing shows this summer, but we have 3, COUNT 'EM THREE! shows in austin coming up very soon! check out the shows page for more deets on that.

BUT! to hold you over after the clap!clap! leave of absence, three members of clap!clap! have formed an electronic dance trio called IMprobable and should be slamming you with new jams and live performances soon. check out their myspace for some unfinished songs.

a while ago, we were asked to be apart of a compilation cover album of kanye west's record "the college dropout". they got different indie bands from around the country to cover one song on the album, and we did "the new workout plan". it was recorded by the wonderful mike groener once again and he did simply amazing! the comp will feature other austin locals, belaire, who we adore very much...as well as some other cool bands. not too sure when the album is out or any details like that, but the song is finished and we must admit that it's slammin'. you can listen to it on our myspace. as soon as we get word that its ok to make availble for your downloading pleasure, we'll post it in the audio section.

the clap! has been getting an awful lot of press action lately, so be on the look out for a press page where you can brush up on the whats-what of clap!clap! and how people are responding to the music/live performances. but to give you a hint of what to expect. IT'S ALL GOOD!

prom was amazing, despite the rain that almost broke our gear, but we kept playing like the balla's we are. thanks to the attendees. the houston show was insane! first time in houston, certainly not the last. thank you to everyone that came out. san antonio show was incredible too on the fans side. we thought we sounded bad, but we heard nothing but great things and saw nothing but sexy people getting down on the dance floor. thank you so much! first show last friday at triple crown in san marcos. we were hesitant about it, because the venue is 21 and up, but it turned out to be really really good. it was our first show with ourtemp keyboardist, ryan, and eventhough from our monitors the mix wasn't up to par, we got a lot of compliments on the sound and show. very very cool. they are good people there and we shall return. thank you everyone who come out to our shows. you make this whole thing worth while. and thanks to all the after-parties and hang outs. we love to meet everyone and bask in the glory that comes from making new friends. thank you! :o)

03.23.05 - last night we had our very first photoshoot with EVERYONE IN THE BAND present! yay! the pictures are posted in the pics section...all photo's were taken by HILLARY WHITEHEAD and came out really well. more information and other work by hillary is available here. also a big thanks to johnny for helping hillary and providing a tripod. it was a crazy night of disorganization and bad lighting, but i believe we came out on top! we also have a new show listed here. enjoy the pics and come to the shows! special information coming very soon to the site so keep checking in...but in the mean time...clap!clap!

03.13.05 - we have added two amazing members to whip out some claps and dance choreography to our band...erika smits and emilee ausmus...last night was their first show and it was incredible! their bios should be available very soon. thank you so much to super!alright!, loxsly and everyone else who came out. the cops showed, but hey...it's not a true party unless they do, right? pics from the show are up, as well as pics from the one year anniversary show on the pics page. the space is a sweet place. we'd like to thank them too. be sure to mark those calendars for the SXSW show march 19th. more info in the show section. that's all for now...see you in a week!

02.14.05 - happy valentines day to all you clappers out there...much love from us to you! our show last night went really well. we met some really cool people that we will possibly be involved with on very special projects in the future. there was some nice dancin' going on and some great pics taken thanks to our friend, emilee. new shirts and cds have been in now and we sold quite a few last night and we've been getting great response from it all. thank you so much, everyone for your support. mark your calendars for our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY SHOW on march 3rd at lucy's in san marcos. that show is going to be off the chain and you will not want to miss it! more info here. hope to see you all there! werd.

02.09.05 - well...our new shirts are in! and they are really really cool...tony from stillhereclothing does an amazing job! we will soon have it up with are old shirts in the merch section along with our new ep entitled "get naughty". we got in the cds from GYAP and they look amazing! they do a really awesome job! they look so so amazing, but unfortunately there was a mix up on the track order so we have to get them re-done. not to worry though, we should have them by the march 3rd show and available in the merch section as well. we have a show this sunday the 13th, it's 21 and up, sorry, but come if you can, but everyone better be there for our one year anniversary show on march 3rd...it's going to be incredible! thanks and have a happy corporate holiday on the 14th! :)

01.29.05 - we are all very sorry about the time mix up last night...we were bumped way up from 11:30 to 8:30pm, but it was no one faults but the sanctuary...laura was great with handling it...it wasn't her fault...but we'll make it up to you i promise. thanks to all that came early. again we're very sorry. i hope no one drove all that way to see us and missed us because of it. hell our own pro clapper doug missed getting to play. got there right at the end of out set...but on a lighter note...TODAY IS JOSH's MOM's BIRTHDAY! happy b-day mom...i love you.

01.27.05 - due to circumstances beyond our control our FEB 9TH SHOW AT FLAMINGO IS CANCELLED. we are trying to find a new place to move it to, but it's not looking good...we'll post it as soon as we know, but for know we don't...but there is good news to annouce...our set tomorrow has been lengthened...so we'll be on from 10:30 to 11:45! we are so unprepared for that, but come out and support the great cause...we're going to have lots of fun. we should have the cds and new shirts by the middle of next week. also more details about the beerland show have been posted on the show page...thanks for looking out! we love you as much as we love to clap!

01.21.05 - we turned in the design, money and songs to GYAP pressing yesterday...so in 4-5 days we'll have the EP! we hope to have them ready to sell at the show on the 28th and every show after. not really much else going on lately. school has started, so we are busy busy clappers...hope to see you in a week!

01.13.05 - so the bio page is finally up. not everyone in the band has submitted me their info so i made some of it up...you can probably tell which ones...or can you? i'll change it as soon as they let me know what their real info is. we also have another new show in ausitn, so check it out. the ep designs are done and almost ready to send off to get printed. the same with the new t-shirt design...so a lot of cool things happening in the land of the clap! stay tuned clappers! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BASSIST JOHNATHAN WYNN!! the big 21!

01.08.05 - we have a new show date! it's a benefit show in san antonio for the tsunami crisis overseas...check it out the details on the shows page. the bios are coming along nicely...just have to wait for the rest of the info from the band. i've also been working on the cd art for the "get naughty" ep...the one i like best is up in the audio section...soon we'll be pressing the ep to hopefully have for sale at the san antonio show. we also have a new t-shirt design that will be printed on a batch of shirts very soon and you can get a sneak at the design here...and hopefully the merch section will be up and running soon so you can buy a little of the clap! paraphernalia. keep checking in on the clap! and we'll keep updating you!

01.06.05 - welcome to the new clap!clap! official website! it's about time. we don't have many shows booked for 2004 as of now, but will soon. you can always check the show page for all scheduled dates. we just finished recording some nice songs with mike groener from line&verse, he also did a remix that will all be on a small EP entitled "Get Naughty" that will be available soon. the site is still in the construction phase, so please be patient. all links and goodies will be up as soon as we can get them. so look around, enjoy and keep spreading the clap!
